Use of the Blog

What is a blog?  A way for me to communicate what I think is important in my class.  I plan on posting fun projects, creative moments and some of the little things that parents will miss out on during the day.  With parents permission I can upload pictures of their child showing off their skills and work.  This is a way for parents to stay in tune to what their kids are doing while they are here at school.  I plan on staying as up to date as I can because it is a piece of their child's life.

Teacher's Heart

Why does anybody want to be a teacher?  You may get summer's off, school breaks and snow days, but on the other hand the pay could be better, the hours are long and kids are not interested in school.  It definitely takes a special person to want to be a teacher, as it does to be a nurse, doctor or pastor.  I want to be a teacher because that is what is in my heart.  I have taught kids to read, I have been a science and math tutor and I teach children math and reading everyday.  I believe I will be a better teacher to those in the upper elementary grades (4th-6th)  because I want to be able to challenge the students.  Not that being a Kindergarten teacher will not challenge the students, I just believe that teaching upper elementary would be my forte.  I want to be a teacher because I want to try to help kids find their true potential.  I want to make learning fun and the time spent with their peers enjoyable!
